PORTLAND, Ore. -- A police dog sniffed out a stash of 46,000 Ecstasy pills in a pickup truck during a traffic stop to help officers make one of the largest seizures of the drug in the history of the Portland Police Bureau.
Police said the pickup was stopped on Interstate 5 about 12:15 a.m. Thursday and officers called for assistance from the canine detective, named "Nico."
The dog found the pills hidden in a large truck box located in the bed of the pickup.
The pills were estimated to be worth between $650,000 and $700,000.
Two men were arrested but their names were not immediately released.
