EUGENE, Ore. -- Police have reopened 27th Ave. between Hilyard St. and Alder St. in Eugene after responding to a suspicious device.
The Metro Explosives Disposal Unit (MEDU) was called to the scene at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and finished investigating the area just after 4 p.m. They determined the objects were fake, but looked like real explosives.
Investigators don't know who left the items in the front yard at the residence. They don't believe the occupant was being targeted either. Anyone with information is asked to call 682-8888.
We will have more information on this case tonight at 5 and 6.
