Eugene Boy's Wish Comes True

By Sean Schoppe

EUGENE, Ore. -- A dream has come true for a local boy who has traveled a rough road in his short life.

11-year-old Brendan Potts, who is stricken with Vater Syndrome, had one wish: to coach the Oregon football team for a day. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, that was able to come true.

It's an ordeal that would take its toll on the strongest of us, yet when you listen to Brendan describe his aftrenoon as a Duck coach, there is no hint that the illness has taken a toll on his spirit.

Brendan's Duck football fantasy didn't end with a day of coaching on Friday; he and his family will be take a limo to Autzen Stadium for Saturday night's game against the Arizona State Sun Devils.
