Feds Accuse Eugene Man of Threatening to Bomb Planned Parenthood Clinic

By Dan Corcoran

EUGENE, Ore. -- A man has been charged for threatening to bomb a Planned Parenthood clinic in Eugene.

Federal authorities have charged 56-year-old Gregory Paul Freeman after police investigated into a series of threatening phone calls made nearly a year ago to the clinic and several other places and people.

Police allege Paul made the threatening call to the clinic in late December of 2008, saying in part, "I'm going to burn your abortion clinic down because you are a baby killer and you hate babies."  Authorities say Paul may have made other calls to a Peacehealth Medical Group doctor, Eugene's Masonic lodge, and to then-University of Oregon president David Frohnmayer and his wife.  Frohnmayer never engaged the caller, instead he notified police.

Paul is currently being charged with making the threatening phone call to the Planned Parenthood clinic, but is not currently charged with the other threatening phone calls.
