EUGENE, Ore. -- There's been a lot of talk about what will happen to the Eugene Water and Electric Board's riverfront property once they vacate a portion of it next year. The Utility is trying to fill that hole before it moves half its staff to its new facility. Now Eugene is getting a preview of some possibilities.

EWEB, alongside several architects, are looking at a couple of different options. There's the "City Green" perspective, which offers a more extended downtown look. Then there's the "Park Themed Organic Plaza" perspective, full of trees and shrubs. And, finally, there is the "River Bow" perspective, which highlights the features of the Willamette River.

EWEB is also trying to do some recycling of its own with the help of several architects. But the Utility is looking to the general public for direction mostly because, in the long run, the people of Eugene will be the judge of the project's success.

Officials with EWEB and the design team say they want your opinion on the project. If you're interested in checking out the proposed drafts and talking with them, you can get your chance on Tuesday at 6 inside EWEB's north building.
