EUGENE, Ore. -- LeGarrette Blount's suspension -- and possible reinstatement -- have been a hot topic for a couple of months now.
So what do fans have to say now that Blount is back?
On one side, there are the folks who thought the punishment was too harsh. On the other, there are those who felt it was too soft, that he should have faced criminal charges for his actions, or that he should have been kicked out of school altogether.
Some fans have said they would quit watching the Ducks if Blount was let back on the team.
Monday's decision re-sparks a debate that is now likely in its final chapter.
As for Blount merchandise, his jersey had been pulled from University of Oregon's bookstore shelves. But managers at the Duck Store today say they will start carrying the number nine jersey starting Tuesday.
What do you think about Blount's reinstatement? We want to hear from you! You can e-mail our newsroom at listens@kezi.com, or call our newsroom at 284-KEZI.

Blount's Non-suspension
If Blount had lost his temper and blindsided the player from the other team, I would be fine with him being suspended for a few games with some guidelines set in place for his behavior. However, he didn't just blindside an opponent. He went for his team mate, the officials, the fans, the police after the game. I believe his second chance was given him when his team mate tried to get him off the field and out of harm's way. I believe he received even more chances that night, and he demonstrated an inability to control himself not only during the heat of the moment in the game, but long after.
By reinstating this young man in so short a time, the University has shown that do not have this young man's real best interest at heart. They are interested in winning at all costs..... they are willing to reinforce his bad, and some might say dangerous behavior by stating that going to classes and keeping your grades up for a couple weeks is good enough. He should have been doing all that before. Has he been sent to counseling? Is he seeing anyone to learn anger management?
For all those who say his behavior was justified and should be forgiven, I just hope you don't accidentally cut him off in traffic..... because I've heard a lot of people "justify" their road rage. I've heard abusers indicate remorse after hitting a spouse, but it doesn't stop them the next time something "ticks them off."
The University should be shaping the long term character and integrity of their students..... but I guess if you can earn a lot of money for the school and later for yourself by misbehaving, that all goes out the window at the U of O.
