MEDFORD, Ore. - Dentists frequently lament Halloween because of all the candy kids eat.
So one Medford dentist is taking matters into his own hands by buying back candy from his patients.
Starting Monday, November 2, Dr. Steven Frimkess will pay one dollar for every pound of candy a child brings in, up to five dollars. Dr. Frimkess says the office will collect candy for a week and then send to troops stationed in Iraq.
"This is a way of helping the children here by not having as much candy because we know it can cause cavities," Frimkess said.
Frimkess says you don't have to be a patient to save yourself the sugar high. Anyone can bring in their candy. For more information call his office at 541-773-3327.
