EUGENE, Ore.-- Less than a day after picking the site, the stage is set for ESPN College GameDay.
Crews spent Thursday morning setting up constructing the stage and fan barricade.
The show director says it takes about 100 people to put on the whole production. "We'd love to have sunny weather anywhere we go but this season we've found it rained quite a bit, probably on five of our shows. So we're getting used to setting up in the rain," says Lorenzo Lamadrid.
ESPN scouted three locations for Saturday's broadcast and ultimately chose the Casanova Center parking lot. "The backdrop is beautiful, the back of the scoreboard with the big O is certainly distinguishable. Being close to that is exactly what we wanted to do to show our viewers where we are," explains Lamadrid.
One crew member says the fan area will hold between 300-400 people. The gates open at 5:30am Saturday morning. And if you forget your green and yellow, the Duck Shop will be open at 6:60am.

ESPN Gameday
What a joke.
Of all the places, They (U of O) pick a spot to handle 300-400 fans ?!
Unbelievable. Why even have ESPN show up ? Why not just let them stay
in the bus and show Pictures of the crowd.
Does anybody work here that was here for the last ESPN Gameday?
Obviously not, They are underestimating the size of the crowd. Thanks guys.
