Florence Non-Profit Director Investigated for Allegedly Stealing Funds

FLORENCE, Ore. -- A Walton resident is currently under investigation for the alleged theft of more than $16,000 from a Siuslaw non-profit organization.

Ethel G. Basset, the former executive director of Siuslaw Outreach Services, is being investigated on four felony counts of first degree theft.

Officials from the organization and the Department of Justice say that several thousand dollars went missing over a period of four years. Basset, 61, has not entered a plea in the case and will appear in court on November 25.

Siuslaw Outreach Services helps to reduce incidents of domestic violence in the Florence area and assists victims in their time of need.

Comments

Ethel Bassest is Innocent.

It is a felony to lie to the grand jury! The agency "officials" involved at the time need to be investigated!
