AZALEA, Ore.--The investigation continues in the Friday shooting that killed a 93-year-old Douglas County man. Early results of the investigation reveal that Clarence Hartley was shot and killed by his relative, Clement Dewart, at the Dewart residence where Hartley was living at the time.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a confrontation occured on Friday, September 25, between Dewart and Hartley.  During the confrontation, Dewart shot Hartley, after Hartley pointed a gun at Dewart.

Dewart cooperated with the Detectives during the investigation, and he was not arrested.
