Springfield, Ore. -- Springfield Mayor Sid Leiken held an impromptu press conference Friday afternoon, publicly apologizing for a mistake involving his mother and a poll she conducted for his mayoral campaign.
Glenda Leiken was paid $2,000 to conduct a poll regarding a proposed gas tax, but questions came up as to whether it really happened. Leiken says he and his wife are paying the $2,000 back into the account in hopes of erasing any doubts people might have.
