WHITE CITY, Ore. - Firefighters say a fire at Biomass One in White City Sunday evening may have started due to the hot weather.
Jackson County Fire District 3 officials say the fire started in a sawdust pile about 80-feet high. Firefighters say the sawdust piles can get so hot a fire sparks.
A much larger fire broke out July 4th at Biomass One. That fire started the exact same way, burning a 120 foot sawdust pile.
Fire District 3 was assisted by the Medford Fire Department and two Oregon Department of Forestry engines.
