Reedsport, Ore. -- Members of Earth First! and Cascadia Rising Tide have taken to the Elliott State Forest to protest a timber sale. The environmentalists blocked a logging road with an overturned van and perched in trees to protest logging and its effects on the environment.
They say they won't move from the site until logging ceases there. The Department of Forestry says they're working towards a peaceful compromise with the group.

Were they chanting "Earth First" when they drove that 5 mpg van up the hill and then dumped it on its side spilling oil and fuel into the litte stream on the side of that mountain? Way to go guys!!
