SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Springfield City Council voted Monday to move forward with filling out the necessary paperwork to make Pioneer Parkway, Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and other portions of some streets, city property.
 
Currently, that stretch of road belongs to the county.  City planners say it's an emergency gap since it connects Springfield to Sacred Heart at Riverbend Hospital.
