Roseburg, Ore. -- The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has launched a pilot program to relocate problem beavers in Douglas County.  So far, they've trapped and relocated eight beavers to habitat along the North Umpqua River.  Researchers say the beavers create valuable fish habitat in streams and are helpful in protecting juvenile coho salmon.  They still have funding to trap 22 additonal beavers, so homeowners with a problem beaver can call them at (541) 440-3353 to arrange for a free trapping.
