JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- Pfeiffer Winery owners gave folks a tour Sunday to show how the winery is going green.
Danuta Pfeiffer said they put 122 solar panels on their tasting barn in November. So far, they've saved close to 6,000 pounds of carbon dioxide. She said they are also now pumping 27 kilowatts of electricity an hour.
Pfeiffer said the project is a quarter-million dollar project and cost them $4,000 out of pocket. But she said state tax credits have helped tremendously and in a few years, the project will have payed for itself in more ways than one.
