Corvallis, Ore.--The Nypro Oregon plastic's plant in Corvallis announces it's closing its doors. Executives say the economy is forcing them to re-structure and the Corvallis plant is no longer part of its strategic direction.
The company says all 62 employees will be offered generous severance packages, outplacement services and possible transfers to one of its other plants around the world. Executives say lay-offs will begin in phases, over the next six months, but the company will remain open until the end of November.
