A family of black bears is coming too close to families in Florence. The bears' den is in a ditch behind Siuslaw Elementary school and next to a neighborhood.

Monday, one of the bears broke into a couple's home with the couple inside. Tuesday, the same bear came back to the same home and pounded on the windows trying to get in. The state police killed the bear. Later Tuesday, a woman opened her door and came face to face with another bear. The Department of Fish and Wildlife caught that bear early Wednesday morning and euthanized the animal.

Authorities say there are at least two more bears out there that have become too accustomed to people because people have been feeding them, either deliberately of accidentally.
