COBURG, Ore. -- Coburg's former police chief can never be a police officer in Oregon again. On Tuesday, John Bosley signed a document revoking his police certification, which is required to work in law enforcement. That stops an investiation by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, a state agency that was investigating alleged misconduct by Bosley while he was Coburg police chief.
In a letter to DPSST, Jeffrey H. Boiler, Bosley's attorney, wrote:
Mr. Bosley has chosen to withdraw his request for hearing and enter into this stipulation, since he no longer is employed in law enforcement, at present has no plans to re-enter the field, and certainly sees no need to expose himself and his family to the ongoing political disputes for which the sity of Coburg is so famous, by continuing to place this matter in a public forum.
