NEAR HALSEY, Ore. -- A Medford man is recovering from some pretty serious injuries after he collided with an SUV while riding his motorcycle. It happened on Interstate 5 about a mile south of the Brownsville interchange and shut down the southbound lanes for several hours Sunday afternoon.
Oregon State Police say 76-year-old Richard Graybeal was trying to merge into the passing lane and didn't see the Jeep Cherokee. The two vehicles collided and Graybeal was thrown from his bike onto the pavement. He reportedly suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
