CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State University researchers have found you can help your child make better choices about what to watch on television by intervention lessons.

Lawrence Rosenkoetter, a retired psychology professor and the lead author of the study, said it was conducted over a four-year span with close to 500 grade school children from Corvallis, Philomath and Albany.

Rosenkoetter said they checked in with students eight months after the study, to find they were still making, what he calls, "nutritious" television choices.  He said that has never been demonstrated before.
