Meet Dorrie

Dorrie is an adorable, healthy girl with brown eyes and hair and a beautiful smile. She is very bright and has a terrific sense of humor. Dorrie enjoys drawing, singing, writing stories, playing with Barbie dolls, and playing with stuffed animals. She likes dogs and horses.

During all of the trauma and loss Dorrie has experienced, she has benefited and responded well from the support of a long term, caring mentor. She enjoys the community activities they participate in and the individual attention she recieves. Her mentor would like to be part of her life on a long term basis if possible.

Dorrie's former foster parents currently supervise visits between Dorrie and her sisters several times each month. They have enjoyed eating meals together and participating in activities like ice skating.

She does best in a home where she is the only child or the youngest child by a significant number of years. She begins to act out if she believes she may have to compete with others for adult attention. It is important for Dorrie's new family to value ongoing sibling contact. While it is not necessary that her new family have a lot of experience dealing with her specific psychological issues, it is extremely important that they be willing to research these issues prior to having Dorrie placed in their home and be willing to advocate for Dorrie to access important support services.
