Rick Douglas

Rick Douglas joined KEZI 9 News in July as an anchor and managing editor. He is thrilled to be back in the Northwest and Oregon in particular. In his many travels, Rick has been deep in the Umpqua National Forest and has traveled the entire length of the Oregon Coast.  Rick grew up in New England and originally planned to be an architect. But in college, he fell in love with journalism and never looked back. Although his career as a TV anchor has taken him all over the United States, Rick prefers Oregon as a place to live because it offers a unique mix of breath-taking scenery and a climate that is hard to beat. And since he is an accomplished landscape photographer, he plans to spend a great deal of his free time documenting the people and places of the Willamette Valley as well as the coast. Among the many highlights of his professional life, Rick cherishes a day he spent with legendary photographer Ansel Adams at his home in California, and will never forget a week he spent aboard the Australian tall ship Endeavour as a working member of her crew.
